I know you wouldn’t be here if you wanted to get something productive done. Besides, isn’t that kinda helpful content everywhere?

If you have ever watched a movie that involves fashion or revolves around fashion, you would know that they combine some of the best things. Drama, romance and beautiful outfits. If that’s not enough to lure you in, many shows and films give an incredible view to actual hustle behind this glamorous industry.

The Devil Wears Prada is THE fashion movie. It is a film revolving around a powerful fashion magazine editor who hires an unlikely college girl as her new co-assistant.

2. September Issue


This one is actually a documentary film, following Anna Wintour and her staff. The September issue contains behind-the-scenes drama that involves making the most important issue of Vogue of the year. It also smashes the cliche and stereotypes in the fashion industry.

3. Sex and the city


If a movie is made that includes bridal couture, fashion week appearance, outfits that still influences thousands of wardrobes and Manolo Blahnik. You. Watch. It.

4. Sex and the city 2


And another stylish movie where Carrie Bradshaw could be killed for her wardrobe. Despite mixed reviews, the costumes alone make “Sex and the City 2” worth it.

5. Mademoiselle C


Mademoiselle C is a documentary whose subject is Carine Roitfeld, Vogue Paris editor-in-chief and fashion stylist. The documentary follows her journey from Paris to New York as a part of her interesting career.

Carrie Bradshaw is a high school student interning at a law firm and secretly working in a fashion magazine. She went from schoolgirl style to NYC fashionista.

7. Confessions Of A Shopaholic

NIF is actually a reality show and fashion design competition. In some ways, it is similar to Project Runway but with much broader representation and way lesser drama than other reality shows that are supposed to showcase talent.

Apart from the beautifully tailored fancy frocks and work-of-art costumes- acid humour, brilliant murder mystery sort of setting, Liam Hemsworth and incredible acting are definitely something you wouldn’t wanna miss.

What are you even doing if you haven’t heard the name, Blair Waldorf? Gossip Girl is a series showing scandalous lives of Manhattan’s upper east siders (and some Brooklyn kids). It revolves around fashionista Serena Van der Woodsen.

6. Ocean’s Eight


A Jewelry heist that takes place in Met gala by eight amazing women consisting of Anne Hathaway, Awkwafina, Cate Blanchett, Rihanna, Sandra Bullock, Mindy Kaling, Helena Bonham Carter and Sarah Paulson.

Point is you know what Met Gala means.

7. The Great Gatsby


This one is one of the most stylish movies portraying the lavish world of Jay Gatsby. F. Scott Fitzgerald’s classic novel’s characters are dressed head to toe in Prada and adorned in Tiffany & co.

Marie Antoinette was known for her love for everything luxurious. The movie is an emotional perspective of her life. It consists of beautiful lavish ballgowns and dresses in pastel colour palette.

A simple favour is a comedy and a crime movie that follows a vlogger trying to discover the mystery of her new friend’s disappearance. This movie received a thumbs up by fashion thanks to Blake Lively’s mysterious character, a fashion industry employee who dresses in power suits.

10. How to steal a million


A woman (Audrey Hepburn) wants to steal a statue from a Paris museum to help conceal her father’s art forgeries. The magnificent costumes in the movie- that were all Givenchy and Audrey’s elegant accessories make this movie a must-watch.

11. Dynasty


Dynasty is a soap opera reboot of the 1980s version of Dynasty. The life of 1% is not just filled with scandals and drama. It consists of expensive outfits and blings. Not a day passes without Fallon Carrington making a fashion statement.

Funny Face has Audrey Hepburn. Need I say more? She has always been a style inspiration. In the movie, Jo (or Audrey) becomes a modelling sensation for Quality magazine and flies to Paris. In Paris, Jo poses around in stunning costumes by Givenchy.

This quarantine has been taking up too much of our energy and it is also affecting the mental health of a lot of people. Which is why, if watching Netflix is all you feel like doing, go ahead! You don’t have to feel guilty of not being productive or not socialising enough.
